Plain air painting infuses nature’s color with spontaneous markings.
A limited palette reflects the passage of the seasons. Experiencing the outdoors with a constant light change is a great component to varying values, mixing colors, creating a mood and evaluating the composition all within a specific time frame.
Painting landscapes outdoors in oil is a planned visual journey that lets me select and edit what I want to share with the viewer. The farther I travel to paint my journey, the more I find similarities in my backyard.
